How Glucose Revolution Changed My Health

I cannot shut up about how much reading this book changed my life, and how I feel every single day. It was recommended to me by somebody who had been pre diabetic, and this friend eats super clean, organic, and doesn't eat processed foods or anything like that, so of course I was surprised when her bloodwork kept showing she was pre-diabetic, and the only thing that moved those numbers back to normal was the protocols she learned in this book. SO OBVIOUSLY I was intrigued, and I am obsessed with everything health and always want to learn more.

I read it in the fall of 2025, and it is now summer 2026 and I wanted to share with you what changed for me personally. (PS Her website and instagram are literally filled with soo much information, make sure to check it out)

For starters I will summarize the book, BUT YOU SHOULD READ GLUCOSE REVOLUTION by Jessie Inchauspe . She breaks down really well what those little glucose molecules do in our bodies, and the cascading effects. You definitely should read it if you have anything listed below:

  • "Hormonal" acne or acne

  • skin aging, glycation

  • PCOS or other hormonal and metabolic disorders

  • Menopause, perimenopause

  • Horrible period symptoms

  • Pre diabetes, diabetes type 1 or 2

  • Feeling hangry, mood swings

  • Insulin resistant

  • weight gain over time due to "hormones" or "aging"

  • Brain fog or fatigue

  • Sugar cravings

  • inflammation or histamine intolerance

  • you have a body and don't even know what glucose is.

She emphasizes that its not just what you eat that matters, but how and when you eat it. Small changes reduce the roller coaster of blood sugar (glucose) spikes and can improve all the things I listed above and long term health without following a restrictive diet. YES PLEASE.

I would explain how everything works but TBH I need you to read the book and she explains everything SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME. BUT this is the highlights that I have been following for almost an entire year.

  1. Eat foods in the right order - Fiber, then protein and healthy fats, then starches and sugars last. Fiber creates a "mesh" that helps create smaller glucose spikes. I basically start every meal with a vegetable now.

  2. Savory Breakfast over sweet breakfast. I always start my day with fiber and protein, and fats. The glucose spike in the morning will cause chaos and cravings the rest of the day. (no oats or fruit for me)

  3. Move after eating. 10-20 minute walk. Muscles use glucose, and reduce the size of the spike.

  4. I don't count calories, or really any macros. I just focus on fiber, like literally I know protein is the thing right now, but fiber is QUEEN. If I want a sweet treat, I literally eat fiber first. I also choose whole fruits over juiced fruit.

  5. I love fat, avocados, butter, peanut butter, yum yum yum I eat so much of that and it helps me feel full, especially paired with fiber and protein.

Okay so now that you see some of the things I do, you can see that it is actually really easy and manageable. Like I totally eat ice cream and fruits and tortillas, but I just focus on fiber and walk almost after every meal. I am not perfect, but consistently doing these things have completely changed my life. I will list all the amazing changes I have personally felt in my life and body.

  • The first thing I noticed was how it affect my periods. Like literally I have little to no period symptoms. I used to feel sooo tired before and during my period. Now I don't even have that, no cramping, no mood swings. It literally doesn't affect me at all now.

  • I noticed my "hanger" went away. That feeling of being hangry until I ate has basically disappeared. My fiancee is very happy about this one.

  • I can go hours and hours without eating. It used to be that if I had dinner at 4-5pm by 9 or 10 at night I would feel shaky and sick to my stomach, like I needed to eat something just so I felt better. I can regularly fast 12-16 hours (night to morning) without any issues.

  • My bloating went away. My fluctuating weight of 5 lbs that seemed to occur almost on the daily went away. No more weight gain during my period either!

  • My skin feels so good. I have more compliments than ever before! I can rest easy that I am preventing glycation in my skin. It is something you can never reverse once it happens!

All of those things happened pretty much within 1-2 months after reading the book, but in month 6 the weight fell off my body. I lost 10 lbs without really even trying. I had lost about 45-50 pounds in 2020 and have fluctuated up and down over the last 6 years and I just figured, this is my weight now. I counted calories and there really wasn't much room to adjust this without compromising my workouts, and so I just was like "ok, the last 10-15 pounds I would like to lose just isn't in the cards for me" and then all of a sudden all my clothes are too big.

I am careful when I talk about this part of the change in my body, because people want an easy way out to lose weight and most people don't give themselves ample time to lose it. They give up after a month or even 6, and many times it can take much longer. The weight loss was just a bonus for me. With anything else, it took years to put that weight on, it will take years to take it off and keep it off. Same with sun damage spots, acne, etc. I will be honest... I was this close to even trying a peptide or GLP1 just to move the weight.I am not against any of those injections as I have seen it transform peoples lives and habits, but there is always unknown risk involved. BUT I am so glad I read this book. Hopefully when I have kids one day, this knowledge will help me be healthier during and after pregnancy and for my possible futures kids too. She does have a book for pregnant mothers that I definitely want to read down the line.

Of course none of this is medical advice, I am not a doctor, and so if you are currently on medications or have auto immune, diabetes, or other metabolic disorders make sure you talk to your doctor. Actually just ask your doctor bc I am not one.
